I'm not sure if this knife belongs in this thread cuz I don't generally collect these, so if it should be elsewhere kindly move it! This is a 'bomb" I received today from my pal ~Q~ in Hawaii, and since it's not a brand I collect I know very little about it. I'll describe what I see! It's 9 1/2" oal Schatt & Morgan slip-joint with a SS Wharn/sheepfoot blade with a very long pull, NS ribbed bolsters and shield, brass liners and pins, and Rosewood covers. Very strong pull and detent. Front tang stamp is "SCHATT & MORGAN CUTLERY CO. TITUSVILLE, PA.", and the back tang stamp reads "F&W" over "QTC". So, does it belong here? Thx!

That pattern is certainly a handful!
It is a modern S&M made under Queen as a-posed to an original S&M ....... but I don't think anyone will really mind it's inclusion here.

Oh, my goodness! I couldn't figure out what you meant Dave, but then I looked at the title of the thread again and saw the dates, duh, the knife I posted was in no way built between those dates! My apologies, like I said, I don't follow these so S & M was all I looked for when looking for somewhere to post it, got a bad habit of doing that and it needs correcting. I attended the Queen Factory auction in 2019 and went through the whole building and basement looking at the thousands of unfinished blades as well as the un repaired knives ( I bought quite a few and restored 13 so far) was a site to see... kinda sad too. My mom was born in Titusville I only live about 42 miles away now.I just paid my son's college tuition so I only spent $450.00 that day but I would of tripled that.I did get two S&M auto's and one Queen,So far restored 2 gonna do one more this winter.I have a lot of paperwork as we bought everything in the MGr's office including file cabinets, chair, computers, desk filled with Queen, S&M, Moore Maker, Remington purchase orders and knife drawings/ tracings with design changes and updates for department head meetings. Pretty cool stuff
[/just curious. Did you find any o purchase orders that Queen City or Queen continued to supply contract knifes to Claus after they bought out Shatt and Morgan?

WW1 era, 1915.
The Arrow & C stamp on the spike indicates it was intended for the Canadian military.
Picked it up a couple days ago. Pics are as-found condition. Pretty big hefty knife, definitely built for rough duty. Great bone.

Yes it is! I've used it in a few different times. It goes along with the other items from the "Fur Trade Era"

Here is a 3 5/8" Closed Bareheaded Jack. Stamped Griffon XX Bridgeport, CT Made by Schatt and Morgan.
Sheepfoot Main, french pull. Pen secondary, crescent pull. Ebony covers, steel liners and Gimp shield.
Love the reverse tang stamp!!
