Nicholson poket knife

Post by dobro59 »

Look at ebay item 145521707365. Looks like an old schrade 294 with a nicholson file made into the blade. I remember old black diamond files.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Kind of cool, they did a good job for a usable knife.

I’ve seen a lot of knife blades made from Nicholson files. Most were fixed blades. That looks like the blade was made from a file, you can see the file striations in the seller’s pictures. The only Nicholson knives I know of were made in Sheffield. ::shrug::

Too bad they could not have found the proper blade for that frame. Trying to place the shield to guess the maker. That one heck of a price put on it. Certainly not what it’s represented as. Clever crafting to put it together.
You can always get more money, good old knives are hard to find.

Nature abhors a vacuum, me I hate a dull knife.
