Something very unusual to me, CRESCENT KNIFE WORKS, please advise.

Post by Seay McCoy »

Hello everyone,

I am somewhat new the forum. I signed up a while back but gave up as my email here didn't work and I lost some chances at knives because I couldn't reach anyone. I'm still working to understand the PM vs. Email here. I don't even know where "Email" is. I thought it was PM's only. Supposedly I have multiple emails I have never seen.

Anyway, the point I'm getting to is I found another knife and have actually been able to send an offer to the seller and have it answered. Something that wasn't working for me before. The seller has a very strange set up though. It's strange for me anyway. But I have heard here in the forums a lot of people do this. It's a no Paypal money order, kind of policy. I pasted it below. Is this legit? Can someone please vouch for Crescent Knife Works? Here's the details in the listing:

"CRESCENT KNIFE WORKS on AAPK

VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING.

I live in Canada about 15 minutes from the border and keep a mailbox in Blaine, WA 98230

All payments are in US dollars.

I am no longer accepting PayPal payments. You can pay with Western Union or USPS money orders, well disguised cash, a check if I know you or you can use a Western Union E-Transfer.

If you are using a Western Union E-Transfer let me know right away so I can send you information you will need.

A WESTERN UNION E-TRANSFER IS EASY AND THE FASTEST AND SAFEST WAY TO COMPLETE THIS SALE.

We only ship to the USA and Canada

Open to offers."

Please let me know!

Thanks,

S.M.

Welcome aboard and glad you are learning to navigate the site. Not to worry he is SOLID guy to deal with. Alot of us are getting away from online payments and he is one of them. The transaction takes a little longer but that's it.

A lot of people are getting away from PayPal and doing something more old school.
Back,, many years ago when I was into photography, I would send US Postal Money Orders
and bank checks to buy things.

Now days however, nothing is 100 % hack proof. Including cash in an envelope is
probably hack proof but people steal from the post office and mail boxes!
