Wife and I slept in a little this morning . We are heading to Green Bay as soon as the Dry cleaners opens . Totally forgot till yesterday that it’s a formal ceremony tonight . Otherwise we’re ready to roll . Not much for this sort of thing but it’s important to Heidi so off we go . Tomorrow will be the rewards as we’ve got some galleries and the RR museum on our radar . There’s also a car museum but not sure we’ll have time for that this trip . Life’s to short ,so much to do or see yet !

Morning folks, wet, windy and chilly 45, Nikki Dee sez 60 by late afternoon, I've got my doubts. Much needed rain thank you lord.
Ole wampus showed this morning and the boss made me feed him 2 cans of friskies and a extra ration of dry. She sure spoils that ole critter to think he won't have anything to do with her. She spoils me too but a least I'll give her a little affection.
Buddies day at Hooters and some running around chores for the boss is on my agenda.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there.
P.S. Dave I'll sure put miss Jackie on the prayer list.

Good morning. I'll open-er up this morning, unless someone types faster than I do or doesn't have as much to say. Thank you for the prayers for sister-in-law Jackie. I posted it in the prayers wanted thread and see a number of fellow AAPK members are praying. Jp asked me to look for pre-WW2 Camillus jacks when I went to check on those 50 or so knives in the antique shop and I almost decided not to post what I found as to not cause him pain because the one out of the 50 that I couldn't walk away from was a gorgeous 4&1/4 inch Camillus ebony heavy jack, or fat jacks as I like to call them. The rest of the knives were worn lower end and the few Case knives were either worn or way overpriced dots era. Goins lists the three-line Camillus (Camillus Cutlery Co. New York) with a curved three-line mark secondary blade that I did buy as made in 1915. It is in amazing lightly used condition with steel liners and the scales are so perfect that I thought they might be slick black instead of ebony, but you can definitely see the grain under magnification. I have a small collection (maybe 10) fat jacks, and this has to be the nicest one I've seen yet. I do plan on posting pictures in Knife Finds when the sun comes up so I can get a decent picture. There is a gun show today but I don't know if my legs and hip will allow me to do that much walking. I got the base laid at the job site yesterday and all that bending and kneeling really has me feeling my age. Hope you all have a really good weekend and stay warm and safe.____Dave

Good Mornin' from Titusville, FL.
Visiting with my brother in law, our wives have already gone to the Cracker Christmas festivities.
Going to visit with him and revive some of our old stories from years ago. We spent a lot of time in the woods and on the water together over 50 years ago.
Weather is good here, back in the Panhandle it appears to be raining the proverbial cats and dogs.

Yep jerryd, that happens to me pretty regular.

Rain has finally moved on, but no sun today so it will stay wet.

Drove the wife around to 2 different cemeteries yesterday so she could put fresh flowers out. Every spring and fall she does this, nearly 20 graves she has taken on over the years, including my parents.
Got home just in time for kickoff, was not expecting Bama to put up the fight they did!

Good morning. Off to church in a few hours and going to our pastor's house for lunch after. Yesterday's gun show was a bust, just like the several I've gone to in the past years. There were tons of new and used rifles and handguns, way overpriced, but not an old knife to be found except a few trinkets. It got just warm enough out to wash my car after we got home and that was pretty much my whole day. Have a great Sunday.____Dave

Morning friends, been dealing with some health issues. I was almost dead by the time i got to urgent care friday. Seems I was outta blood. Had to get blood tranfusions. I'm better now but not outta the woods just yet. Ran lots of test and no can figure out where the the blood was lost or why. Big mystery at the moment. Looks like plenty of lollygaggy in the future around here. Happy trails my friends!

Good Morning. Currently 47 going to 55. Mostly cloudy.

Tho the sky looks "wintery" there is no sign of snow. I won't mind if we go thru the entire winter without snow.

The neighbor's cows have been bawling all night for their calves which have been removed. Wish we could be more humane in our treatment of farm animals. They know fear; they know sorrow. I enjoy a hamburger as much as anyone but I think we could do a better job utilizing animals. As it is now, 75% of our beef is imported. I didn't realize the percentage was so high.

If your church follows the liturgical seasons you realize we begin Advent this day. A good season to request extra graces for those among us who are suffering from illness.

P.S. Dave. In recent years there have been new guidelines on the taking of aspirin and some other over the counter medications. Namely, older folks should not take them as they can cause internal bleeding. This can be extremely dangerous if the bleeding occurs at night, while sleeping. Whatever your situation, I am glad you were able to get to the hospital.

Looks like an inch or so of snow so far this morning and more through the day. Starting to look like winter around here.
Dave in Mn. That’s sure a nice looking Fat Jack Camillus you snagged ! Good to see you found something worth the trip . That main is sure full ,looks like very little use . Those big Jacks are a handful and very well made .
Dm11, hang in there and hopefully the Doctors can get a handle on things for you.
Todays a day of rest for sure . And as Garry mentioned the advent season. We’ve a special skit and message the 4 Sundays of advent and hoping it goes well . Then after service some football and getting pics of the National RR museum posted in the appropriate thread. If you are at all interested in history or Railroads the museum in Green Bay ,Wi is well worth the time. Would recommend warm weather though as there’s a lot to see outside as well as inside . One area of interest is the Hobo . They had their own signs, language and methods . Would mark there travels with signs to inform the next hobo. It was a lifestyle for them . If they could afford it they carried a slot knife. More in the other thread later .

Good Mornin' from Titusville again.
Hopefully by tomorrow this time we will be about to head home. Not going to make it to Webster tomorrow as we often do when returning. Scott will take care of that probably.
According to our daughter, we been blessed with around 8 inches of rain since we left Friday morning. The woods will be wet when we get home!
Got to watch FSU win the ACC championship last night with the 3rd string quarterback 1st start, wasn't pretty but it worked.
Miss Joy got tired of the festivities at Ft. Christmas around 2pm, she called and asked me to pick her up so I made the trip and she then said we could visit another couple we used to ramble around with many moons ago. Made the trip almost into the east side of Orlando to visit. Those folks looked old! I wonder how we looked to them? We talked of hunts, dogs and horses from years ago. The same kind stuff we used to hear as youngsters listening to the old men "chewing the fat" back in the day.
Joy said their youngest brother did a wonderful job demonstrating and explaining the "Old time ways" of the meat business to the visitors learning about old Florida.
We'll surely miss going to our church today.

Miss Joy is up packing up our stuff, ready to head back to Starvation Plantation. Supposed to have a better than normal breakfast before we get on the road according to her sister.
All the rain has moved out of the Gulf and into the Atlantic so we should have good weather heading home.
Time for the 1st cup and breakfast, I hear things rattling around in the kitchen.

Good morning. It's 6;20 here and black as it could be outside. I woke up feeling a little dumpy this morning so I hope I'm not coming down with something. It was a fun weekend even though we didn't do much other than go to dinner a few times and the dud gun show. We have some touch-up painting to do at the cabin and maybe Jason can slip in a small plumbing job. He won't need me there unless the homeowner has some other projects on his list. Good Morning FCD Patrons - As I sip my 2nd cup of coffee, I find it hard to believe that in 4 weeks it will be 2024, but ready or not it's coming! This weekend I ran a donor recruitment campaign for the monthly knife giveaway and the response exceeded my expectations, thank you to those who stepped up to keep this important forum tradition alive! It looks like the day will yield more unpacking along with a trip to the library, Lowes, and the Post Office. Plans are underway for holiday visitors so we need to get the cardboard boxes and tubs out of the way and decorations and tree in their place. So far, we are loving life on Oak Island NC. Peace

A hand full of pills followed by a bowl of Rice Krispies & milk. All that while sitting here reporting the local weather on AAPK. Woo Hoo baby. Who would have thought creeping up on 80 would be this much fun.

On a more serious note, my favorite cousin has another bump in the road of life. He lost his wife of 50 plus years to Alzheimers about three or four years ago. He waited on her hand and foot for the last couple of years or her life after it got to the point where she didn't even know him. Never sent her to a home. Made sure she ate. Cleaned up the bed she laid in 24x7 after she soiled it. Some time after she passed he hooked up with the sister of one of his old Caterpillar buddies and they got married about a year and a half ago. Last week, she fell in the bathroom and hit her head. Now she has sever bleeding on the brain and there's nothing they can do for it so the last I heard, they are going to pull the plug on her today. I understand that that is the way life goes but it makes me wonder why does bad things happen to such good people. Thanks for letting me vent through a veil of tears. I'm happy to have AAPK.
