Hi winst,

I've been working on organizing & consolidating the content & code base of the AAPK site with plans to improve a lot of things ranging from performance & security to page layouts, content availability & aesthetics along with a few things in between. The price guide was taken down & I am uncertain of its fate at the moment.

I'm not sure if it is useful enough to justify spending the resources it would take to modernize it & maintain it.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts & others in regards to its usefulness to you. ::nod::

Best,
Bryan

I do understand the reason for considering the cost verses the usefulness of this link. Although it may not be exact in valuing these knives, it does give the user some ballpark approximation as to the real value of these knives. I know that the value is determined by the demand that changes over time but I have found that these price values are relatively close to auction prices on ebay in most cases. The price guide works for me when considering a certain model for purchase. I hope your decision can be better determined by input from users. Thanks for your hard work in constructing this link. Decisions about maintaining or modernizing features depend on the goals and priorities of the website, as well as the resources available for development and maintenance.

I think you shouldn’t waste your time on it Bryan. Since the pandemic these price guides have been way far off. Prices rise with inflation and during times of stimulus like we had back during the pandemic, they simply couldn’t keep up. Even before that they weren’t very accurate. There are simply too many variables that determine price and there isn’t a model guide for prices out there that could account for all those variables. Variables like: handle material, blade steel, quantity produced, knife designer, pattern and inflation. How can anyone set a price on all these variables?

Everybody looks on Ebay for Completed Sales or sold items to get an idea, and that's not a sure thing. Wondering if that is a possibility on AAPK . Sold Item's on AAPK ??? That might be asking a lot !!!!! ::dang::
