ANother Cowboy Bottle Stopper
I've been usin' my Case medium congress w/ CV blades alot lately, I really like it
Been usin' it to whittle on this cowboy stopper. (I'm still waitin' for Case to put out a Seahorse Whittler with CV blades, I'd sure 'preciate that) Anywhoo, here he is ...

Uhhhhhhh Don...................
Can't help but notice those bottles are all empty.
Those stoppers didn't stop someone!
Phil
PS That newest cowboy and the newly painted stopper both look great.

Re: ANother Cowboy Bottle Stopper
Thanks Don
I appreciate it.
Bighead, I am envious
Really looks good all painted up
And Don, I just found a very old pard of mine
an old John Primble congress, he was really
happy to get it. Very handy pattern, that congress

Re: ANother Cowboy Bottle Stopper
Stagman, the congress pattern is one of my favorites too
Phil, In all honesty, the strongest thing I drink is Soda-Pop, I'm a lightweight. But I figured those Cowboy stoppers are tough dudes and should be displayed accordingly
I'm always on the lookout for interesting looking bottles to display the stoppers, so if you ever come across any, please let me know. The whiskey bottles are a perfect display for these wranglers, and I'd love to get hold of one of those old moonshine jugs
I probably need to go to an antique shop or two to find such things. Anyways, thanks for lookin' and all the nice compliments!
Oh, by the way, what's 'ya got cookin' in your new avatar? Looks like it smells real good!

Re: ANother Cowboy Bottle Stopper
Don I think I was cooking a mess of cornbread chili when I took that picture. I like to cook outside, on the grill, in a smoker, and best of all in a Dutch oven like your old cowboys used. I took those pictures for a newspaper article I was working on about Dutch Oven cooking. Did you know you can cook darned near anything in a Dutch Oven?carvin don wrote:

Re: ANother Cowboy Bottle Stopper
Cornbread chili
Is that spicy? I like cornbread, but not so much chili, the stuff never has agreed with me. You must be one heckuva' cook though, Phil, cause I sure enjoyed the tomato thread you posted, but unfortunately, again, they don't seem to like me either
I'm a pretty bland eater, no spice in my food life
Islander, Thanks for the info. about the jugs, I forget about ebay, I will have to take a look and see what they've got. I know those jugs can come in various sizes, It'll be interesting to see what's offered. And thanks so much for your kind words about the stopper!

I got to where I couldn't eat anything without getting a bad case of heartburn. Finally went to the doc and got some medicine to take care of the problem. Now I can eat darned near anything without any problem.
