That knife features perfect camouflage for trips to Dunkin Donuts!

So true! 🤭

My first day to carry this one:
IMG_9868.jpeg
A 2015 Bear and Son trapper, 4-1/8" long, with carbon steel blades and oak handles.
You will usually find a trapper in my Dad's pocket, so I carried this one today to honor a great man!

I thought I didn't care much for those "Donut" knives, John, and then you go and show us your model in blue/aqua, and I immediately start thinking "Where can I get one".
I guess it was the pink models, cuz I'm really liking yours.
And yes, I did notice it has a pink blade, but it seems for my eye if the accent is on blue and the secondary color is pink I find them more attractive.
As it's been said a couple of times, Delicious!

Quick Steel wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 2:59 pm doglegg, I'm glad you can enjoy my blurred photos. [I claim it is an artristic style akin to Impressionism. ::facepalm::] As to how I select...

The knives I actually carry on me tend to be about the same 5 or 6; my Camillus E/O that Ike sent me is a daily carry, a Spyderco, and a few others are rotated. I don't put up photos of these often. The knives I usually choose to show, my so called desk knives are simply brought out to admire and get some fresh air. These I select by inspiration. Each in turn is my favorite for the day. [No thought out plan.]
Garry!
I'm glad you mentioned your blurry pictures since I've been noticing them for a few days now.
I was on the fence about saying anything for fear of hurting any feelings, but now that you have I can say something.
They seem to have started when you began holding your knives in your hand to take the pictures so as to capture your PC's screen for the background.
If you're looking for opinions, I much preferred your clean crisp photos with random backgrounds to these new ones. Now that's certainly not to say I didn't enjoy those unique and colorful backgrounds, but to clearly see the beauty and details on your knives is far more important, to me.
If you're not looking for opinions, well then, just never mind!

Marco, I am happy to have your opinion. Your observation is correct, i.e. trying to manipulate the camera with one hand and the knife with the other results in unsteadiness. Yet I am not quite ready to abandon this new effort. I think I may be able to master the manipulation with more practice. If I can't in a reasonable time, then I shall revert to my former ways. I think some of them have turned out satisfactorily. See the following. Time will tell. Let me impose on your patience for a few more days.

QS, First Happy Thanksgiving! Second, Are you using autofocus on your camera? That could be the problem. Most autofocus will focus on the brightest thing. Also, most autofocus has a feature where you hold the button halfway down and it will usually give you a square that will change color when it is totally in focus, then you can press it all the way down to take the shot. Forgive me if you already know this, I'm just trying to help. Another thing that could help is another light in front of the knife that's in front of your screen. The vortex picture I too was purposely done to just get the outline, while a front light would have illuminated the knife. Just try some different things, and have fun with it. It will come around! Garry!
The last thing you could ever do is try my patience, because I'm fully aware of your desire for excellence and would never think to deny that to you.

Whatever adjustment you made is shining through in your most recent pictures, they're almost as good as previously before you began experimenting, so by all means continue making adjustments, I have no doubt you will eventually perfect the process.

I've been dealing with said "unsteadiness" since the 1st. picture I posted on AAPK, cuz the method you used is what's necessary and always has been for me to use too, some days being better than others.

I actually should have clarified my OP by saying SOME of your pictures are coming out blurry, cuz there are some that are definitely up to par, but I didn't and that was a mistake.

I'm pleased that you took no offence to my pointing this issue out to you, I was certain you would want to know how others were seeing it! ::handshake::

Thanks, QS. I don't want to overstep my boundaries, but I thought you might like to try a few tricks. The best is always outdoors, but you are so right about the trying to hold the camera in one hand and a knife in the other. I had a small LED flashlight in my mouth for todays pic! Talk about crazy!! ::oh_my:: ::oh_my::
