Any idea what this is?

Post by Metalriff »

Hi, any idea what this is? Found in the woods near me. Old, antique, scrap? Thanks.

Is it a brass handle with a metal blade? Over 12" long? Looks like the handle is made from some possibly sand casted material. ::shrug::
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Reminds me of some of the more crude theater-made knives I've seen...

I am not sure about the blade, but the handle appears to be hand made. The texture of the brass makes me think that either molten brass was poured into a cold sand mold, or was built up with constant brazing - something that would make the surface appear disjointed, rather than a solid piece.
It does look very interesting though!
