Original Scagel Folders $8000 for the pair!

I’m thinking these are authentic, and perhaps a good deal, but still way out of my price range. You don’t see Scagel folders on eBay ever, and this set comes with what appears to be a verifiable backstory. It’s odd that one is not marked, but they appear to be made at the same way and same time.

What do you guys think?

I know nothing about these knives.
But, if you believe they are authentic and a good deal, why post in the counterfeit thread?

Agreed, if Bill listed these knives with this provenance I doubt they are anything less than he states.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

They look genuine to me, but I’m not sure the person listing the knives is the same person who wrote the letter. Look at the date on the letter. If this should be moved out of this thread, please do so, I mainly wanted to share the auction and since one of the knives in the auction is not marked, I was hoping to get feedback along those lines.

These knives seem to fit with the rest of the seller's listings. I do find the choice of scale material to be odd.

They could be, my neighbor growing up had one and brought it everywhere, so I vaguely remember what they look like. I do agree with the above comment though, the handles are a bit odd. If they are authentic, I honestly think that they’ll go pretty fast for that price too; some wealthy professional restoration guy will go crazy over them if they’re real.😂
