Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

3 knice ones PB. That first one is new to me. The 863 is knice. The Imperial made a scout version so maybe a Sears as well.

Thanks Floyd, I've got a couple of the 1047 made by Imperial, I also have one Imperial 72 clone that just has a bare shield, so yep they could have had one slip through the line for Sears.

Jerry.....Brother I appreciate that info. I should have known an old 72 man such as yourself would have one. Along with the stamp punch, awesome. Really, I do appreciate finding out the company this was for. Good to see you again and Thanks again!! ::tu::

Wow! That is sweet group you ended up with P.B. Very NICE!

Here's some 72 Clones that I picked up while I was away for a bit.

Imperial 1047, Black Handles with Federal or Badge style shield.
IMP 1047 BSA Blk_a.jpg
IMP 1047 BSA Blk_b.jpg
McGrew Hillbilly Classic with brown handles, with box & papers
McGrew HBC 72 clone brn_a.jpg
McGrew HBC 72 clone brn_b.jpg
McGrew Hillbilly Classic with Yellow Handles. Blades have great snap with no wobble, but they have been abused a bit. Didn't have a yellow one so had to get it.

McGrew HBC 72 clone yellow_c.jpg
This one has no Tang Stamp, but is the same dimension as a Camillus 72 and almost identical to the 72 clone that was made by Whitetail Cuttlery. Faux Pearl Handles and has "27th Hillbilly Days April 10 11 12 2003" Which I found is an event held yearly in Pikeville Kentucky.

A few more,

Camillus 1047 long line tang stamp, black handles with badge style BSA shield.

Cam LL 1047 BSA Blk Fed Shd_b.jpg
Camillus 1047 long line tang stamp, white handles with round BSA shield. Yes there are some cracks around the shield,

Camillus 1047 long line tang stamp, brown handles with round BSA shield.

Cam LL 1047 BSA Rnd Shd_b.jpg
Camillus 1047 long line tang stamp brown handles with round BSA shield. Don't know if the mark side handles are faded, some kind of chemical got on them or color mix was wrong, but shield looks undamaged, and blades have great snap. Will make a good edc.
