Philip, that would be a knice if it came out of the deep end of the bay. Very knice pick up.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 6:24 pm This Pal Cutlery Co. camp knife showed up yesterday:002.JPG
It appears to have the factory edge on the spear blade. There is bluing on the concave side of the punch.006.JPG
The cap lifter/screwdriver and the can opener both have half stop positions. I've never encountered a Pal with such strong springs! I believe this one has been laying in a sock drawer for close to 70 years, never used.005.JPG
The well is also very clean:009.JPG
Another "low water" prize.![]()
Thank goodness for knife picks!![]()

After looking at the few Pals I have, I was surprised at the different blade combinations on that frame. If I'm not mistaken that would be a "cattle knife", an "equal end" or a "cigar", depending on who is talkin'. I'm going to try and list those combinations over on the Pal subforum.
Speaking of blade combinations, this little Schrade 899 has a punch/awl in the place of what is normally a spay blade position, I think.

Fished this little shell handle knife out of the shallow end of the bay, didn't have one from the mother country in my pile of junk.

Here is a pearl Bulldog gunstock I got from an AAPK seller, Millstom307. Great knife and great seller!

That certainly is a beauty, R-47, I'm a gunstock fan but prefer them with "chicken's^^^teeth" single blades.
That MOP on your knife is sensational.
Great knife!

Just picked up this Grohmann folder at a half price sale. Straight from the Atlantic maritime region of Nova Scotia. This is actually a design taken from one of their well known fixed blades. At 4” closed, it fits the hand like an extension.

Great pick-ups everyone!
Here are a few I bought and traded for at the Pigeon Forge show this weekend. Unfortunately, it may be from shadows, but my camera did not bring out the bright colors and do the abalone copperhead justice.
Want to give a special shout out to our very own store owners Gary Kennedy (kennedy knives) and Bob (PLUMBOB'S KNIVES) for allowing me to attain some of these knives that will make great additions to my collection. They were both very professional and great to deal with.

Thanks Kim! I love the Wharncliffe copperheads and was thrilled to score a couple this weekend. I just wish I could have gotten better pictures of the abalone.

Abalone is notoriously difficult to photograph and capture the full spectrum of the kaleidoscope of colors. But, to those who've seen it IRL, memory and imagination compensate for the failure of the camera lens to accurately reveal the complexity and wonder of the vibrant bivalve cladding.
Kudos to Gary K and P Bob for supplying the sustenance required to keep your addiction well fed and healthy!

Thanks Q! I might have had better luck if I had taken the pictures outside in the sunlight today, but I was too late yesterday, and my lack of patience wouldn't allow me to wait.
