In fact, I struggled between the two. The second shot has much to recommend it. I finally went with the top shot because of how the sweep of the fallen log carried my eye deeper into the photo.

But I love the balance in the 2nd shot between the density of the trees contrasting with the openness of the field. Very fine depth of field on this one.

Very nice, Scott!

This is my new knife I bought to take on our hikes. Got it cheap off the sale table at SMKW the last time I was there. It’s sharp, but I don’t depend on it holding an edge real well. But I did like the design. Nice canvas sheath with it, too.

Thank you, I appreciate.your comment. HSB Hardware went out of business back in 1960, not surprising that you hadn't heard of them. Their knives were made by good companies, and any that I have owned have all been good, solid knives.
