How bout' some details, Oscar; Eagle, Falcon, Hawk?
Nice covers on that beauty, whatever model it is!

It’s an Eagle Lockback, honey jigged bone, AUS8 blade. Price was too good to be true for an Al Mar. Site I purchased it from didn’t show the country of origin. In the back of my mind I was thinking China as I’ve Never seen an Al Mar for $56. I thought why not? If it bears the name Al Mar it has to be a quality knife.
I was right. It was made in China and it’s great quality. Extremely tight tolerances.
And whut-up with all you folks who think that just because I live in Canada I know every little detail about the entire country, eh? lol, just in case!

It looks like an Al Mar from the photo, but I can't make out all the detail... looks nice, with real bone scales... But in your hand you can see all you can't in a picture...

I fished this whole passel of knives out of the shallow end of the 'Bay. All of them have problems, but most appear to be repairable.

A passel of patients waiting on the Doctor...

1- two beat-up and rusty Imperial Camp Kings.
2- a Boker Stockman in Butter & Molasses, with a punch blade. The main is slightly tipped and wobbly.
3- a Wards Trapper with Camo scales, probably celluloid. The main has been tipped and badly reprofiled.
4- a Kent with plastic handles and missing tipped bolsters. The blades are good, so I may remove all the bolsters and put solid handles with Birdseye rivets, or something.
5- a Boker electrician's knife with stiff blades.


All came in the Buck tin, which may be handy knife storage. My cigar boxes are full.
But then there was also this cool toy by Mattel, probably dating back to the 50's or 60's:

It looks like a knife, complete with a (damaged) plastic blade.

But then the handles fold down, and it is a Pocket Shot cap gun!

The hammer does not fold out, so the trigger stays loose. It is probably not repairable, but I am going to oil it up anyway just to see if it will work loose. I just happen to have a couple paper rolls of old caps, just waiting to make me feel like a kid again!

These figures seem correct, Dog, and I base that answer on my vast financial knowledge that I acquired while smoking "Propane" all those many moons ago, an' you can take that to the bank, eh!

Most of the quality American knife makers have gone out of business. It’s a shame.
BTW, you being Canadian, what can you tell me about Grohmann knives? I’ve admired one of their folders but never seen one in person. Are they any good ? Made in Nova Scotia if I’m not mistaken.

Here's one a bit more traditional but still an unusual configuration, a #62 Queen. The #62s are 5.25" single spay bladed fruit/sausage lookin' knife.

#62 Queen 1961-1971 "NO STAMP" years

This is my second #62, the first was listed as an unknown maker got it for 15 bucks, this one was $8.99 + shipping. As the first, this one is also in the no stamp years 1961-1971. "No stamp" was a labor-saving measure when Queen was owned or under the control of Servotronics according to my remembrance, which might not be accurate. +

Twins, a few scratches and a bit of blade loss, not too bad for at least 52 year old knives.

T.F. very nice #62. I just picked a really clean one up a few weeks ago. It is a very different design, not a true fruit sampler, not a cotton sampler... not a hunter..... But a nice big solid knife.

I expect it would take care of ole Bambi as it's plenty sharp don't know if the blade would hold the edge or not.
As to the fancy part it cost 19.95 shipped to my mailbox.
Here's my # 62 it cost me quite a bunch more than your two cost you but it's never been on a rock and is real Winterbottom bone, she's a 58 to 60 year model so she's getting some age on her.
