A Question for the Experts!

Post by Madmarco »

Hey guys!
I have a recently received Matt Diskin linerlock automatic, and after I fire it the spring is rebounding forward too much, and as a result it's sitting ON TOP of the liner used to release the blade to fold closed, making it impossible to move so the blade can free-up for closing, so I need to insert a small flat-head screwdriver so as to push the spring back into the channel until I hear a loud "click" which is the spring coming off the liner under pressure freeing it from being jammed.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to make the spring stay in far enough so it doesn't jam on top of the liner after each firing, or some sort of adjustment to the liner so perhaps it sits up high enough to prevent the spring from "climbing" on top of it after firing.
The spring is held in place by a single screw that fits into a pre-cut slot on the side of the spring, and is the very last piece to install when assembling the knife, very much the same as the Edgeco kit knives where you had to insert a pin through the knife to hold in the spring that you put in when it arrives to you.
Bill, Killgar, Charley or anyone who might know.....???
Thanking you in advance, guys!

Shim or bend the spring so that it can not over-travel.

Thank you, Bill.
I get how to bend the spring, but what do you mean about a shim and where would it go? Thx!
