Chalset Canada

Post by millern »

I bought this well-made knife (I’d call it a “cattleman whittler”. ) in an antique store, years ago in Wisconsin. The knife is in pretty good “used” condition, except for the cracked green handle scales. The master blade is marked “CHALSET” over “CANADA”, with “920” stamped on the other side. The punch blade is marked “Solingen Germany”.
Does anyone else have any of these knives or information on this Canadian import company?

I dug all around and couldn't find anything. It's a cool knife. What are the handles made of? J.O'.

Handles are some type of olive green “plastic”. Possibly celluloid.

I have this one. French ivory celluloid. I believe both knives are made in Germany, based on the iron pins? Other than that I have not been able to find any information either.
