Not so sure that you caught that from the ditch. Country kids get so bored and the parents don't really wonder what they're up to as there isn't much to do. That's the problem....with nothing to do kids find very outlandish and unsafe things to do. Myself included.

Here is one that won't be opened, not by me anyway. The Woodford Reserve 50th anniversary bottle commemorating the Triple Crown won by Secretariat, released earlier this year. Pictured along with an old Empire that I carry quite often.

Edit : Actually, it commemorates the Ky Derby win, not the Triple Crown.

Very cool, Ike, but here's my point of contention . . . why let the next guy enjoy the fruits of your labor? But I can relate, I have 2- 750ml bottles of Johnnie Blue and I can't bring myself to open even one. Had them when I got promoted, bought my place and got married. What am I waiting for, paying off my mortgage or retirement? I need to figure out what's important enough to commemorate popping the top on at least one.

Btw, I once tried JW Blue. I would say it is a little more of an exclusive product than the contents of my Secretariat bottle. That is nothing more than regular Woodford at a fraction of what that JW costs. It will be worth whichever special occasion for which you decide to partake.

I buy the cheap stuff. In years gone by, I have bought some expensive stuff but it all tastes the same to me. I guess I don't have a discerning pallet and that doesn't bother me in the least.
