Absolutely gorgeous, QS!!!!Quick Steel wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 1:25 pm Yesterday's mail brought me this gem from Sharpnshinyknives. A first-generation Bulldog Sowbelly Stockman bearing some of the prettiest stag I've seen. The term "Old World Craftsmanship" was used in advertising to suggest great care and skill. It was sometimes even applied to U.S. made products. Today much of the old world has disappeared and along with it much of its touted craftsmanship.
Nevertheless, pockets of that rare quality persist into the 21st century and I offer this BD as an example.
I will repeat these photos in the BD thread.

Those are some real lookers, QS! Very nice!Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 10:49 am Marco, thanks for the comment.
treefarmer, I would love to have nothing but American made stuff (excepting German Bulldogs) but most everything around here is China made or has China parts from computers to TVs etc. etc. Concerning RRs, they are, as you indicate, functional, inexpensive, and they do liven up a collection.

I can't help myself. I've become quite the automatic addict....so many knives out there and so little time!
I've heard some of those Sheffield knives can be tough on the nails. How's the pull on yours?

Beautiful knives each and everyone. What a great find ! I especially favor the clasp knife but all are beautiful. Wood covers add character, especially when the wood is as beautiful as it is on those.
Gogeous, nice score. Love that stuff. I could look in there for hours.

Great old knife there, Treefarmer! Good score!treefarmer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:38 pm Been fishin' in the bay again, this time we found what appears to be an unsharpened (factory edge) 881 Schrade. I used an 881 for years and thought I might just try carrying another one. 002.JPG001.JPG003.JPG004.JPG
