My 2 Winchester blades

Winchester entered the knife market as a manufacturer in 1919 by acquiring two existing knife companies; Eagle Knife Co. of Connecticut & Napanoch Knife Co. of New York. Winchester stepped away from the market in 1942 to focus on war related manufactured products, but re-entered in the late 1980s by licensing its name to Blue Grass Cutlery. Blue Grass had high quality knives made by Queen Cutlery that featured the Winchester brand name for a handful of years until the license arrangement ran its course. Winchester eventually started licensing to other companies & now you will find the brand name used by several knife manufacturers by way of license agreements.

My 2 Winchester blades

Post by Rottonj »

Good afternoon. These are my only Winchester knives, both were acquired thru eBay at separate times. I have read through many threads about counterfeits, just wondering if what I have here are real and are old as they both appear. Razor has a number stamp(8527) , 2 blade knife only has tang stamp on main blade, no other markings anywhere. Any help or thoughts are appreciated. I am having difficulty up loading images. I will keep trying. Not a great way but this works.

I collect Winchesters. Judging by your photo, I`d say both of your Winchester items are Authentic. ::tu:: Mike

To the best of my knowledge, this is the real thing.

Thank you for the replies. Any idea on the age? I'm thinking the razor is old, the pocket knife is a little rough so it may appear older then it is. Ballpark is good enough, I didn't pay much and they are just going into my display case. Thank you in advance, it's appreciated.

I forgot the razor also came with the box, not sure if this helps in dating anything. Thank you.

Age? I will say 1930`s. The Box for the Razor is Really cool. The Box is likely worth more than the Razor. ::tu:: Mike
