Hi,
David Yellowhorse is a native American craftsman/artist who is very well known for his work customizing knives. The knife you have was most likely made by Buck but modified by Mr. Yelllowhorse. He is very prolific in his work, which is quite popular in some collecting circles.
Below is a link where you can learn more about him. You can get a lot more info if you care to google both David and Brian Yellowhorse.

Like all good silversmith's David Yellowhorse has used many techniques - not just Navajo who have been known to make jewelry from coins - which elicted a NEGATIVE response from the US Government over a century ago. Yeah, they outlawed it but there was still Mexican coins which had less silver content. Originally the Zuni tribes invented and used the channel inlay process. Like all good artisans some Navajo silversmiths adopted the channel inlay process and uniqely made it there own.
The Navajo have the largest Reservation of all the Native American tribes - land wise.
Ayone know what American folk hero defeated the Navajo? Yet he treated the Navajo very humanely and denounced massacres of other tribes (especially irregular Union forces commanded by John M. Chivington in the Colorado War that were attacked under a truce). About 30 Navajo died and he did not participate in the long walk. When he was in charge he allowed the Navajo to ride horses and in wagons - unlike others. He is regarded as the one of the few heros of the American west that is NOT over rated.
