If my other sister's GSP Barney was there, there would be 4.

They are, and Ireland has never outgrown her kitten playfulness. It annoys her mother sometimes.

Thanks, Dan. They are definitely entertaining and neither bites or scratches us. However, they do bite and scratch each other, but usually not viciously. Luna will hiss at Ireland, and then Ireland just stares at her wondering what that was. Luna was an alley cat and had 4 kittens when she was about 1 year old. Her 3 sons are still in Western Maryland, 2 look like her and 1 looks like Ireland.

Kim, Whether by accident or design the lighting of Lola in the 3rd photo from the top is excellent and produces an exceptionally lovely photo.

Ahter and Rueger (AKA "The Furry Turd", AKA "The Wild Colonial Boy") burning off some early morning energy. Ahter is 7 years old now, and has had some ACL issues on both legs, so she is not as mobile or energetic as she once was. Rueger is 8 months old and he has more energy than the sun.

You gave those pups some pretty interesting names Mike ::tu:: I looked up the meanings and Ahter is a nice one and Rueger is pretty funny for a dog. You were not exaggerating Rueger's energy level at all - my gosh! I hope Ahter likes her new puppy companion - it seems like she does, but I know from experience some older dogs are just like "leave me alone" with hyper younger dogs. My brother-in-law had a an older Mexican Hairless dog and when we brought our Lola down with us to visit, Zacca was not having any of it!

Beautiful fur babies you've got there :D
Thanks Kim. Lola was a cute pup.

I can't take credit for the names - the wife named the dogs (well, "Furry turd" is mine  ). Ahter is a Turkish Kangal, so she wanted a Turkish name - Ahter means "Lucky star / Shooting Star" in Turkish. Rueger means "a magnificent marksman, tough and manly" in German.

Ahter tolerates Rueger. She is the Alpha - Kangals WILL BE the Alpha - that's part of their breed characteristic. Our last dog, Joshka - was content to be the beta. But Rueger is much more dominant. It will be interesting to see the dynamic between the two as he matures and asserts himself more.

Here's my helper Mr. Griffin, he had to go to the barbershop this morning.
I'm going to try to do a woodburning plaque from that picture.

Looked out the window this afternoon and saw our two Labs sunning themselves (one was napping), along with one of the several barn cats. That particular cat seems to think Purdey is her dog.

Good lookin' pups, guys.!

Rueger was checking out the deer this morning while my wife and I were drinking our coffee on the patio. We have finally had some cool weather and rain this week. A nice break from the un-ending heat we have had this summer.

Kimzilla wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 12:25 am That's a great photo Ken! It's ::shrug:: always nice to see cats & dogs getting on nicely. So the one napping dog's name is Purdey, how about the other guy/gal and the kitty?
They’re all females. The other dog is Mazie (Amazing Grace - but her call name is Mazie). The cat is one of our numerous barn cats- at last count there are five - there were six but haven’t seen one of them recently. The grandkids have named them but the only one I know for sure is “Pablo”. I remember that one because Pablo is a she!
