Hey All, some really great Sak’s on this thread for sure. Love lookin at all the different handle patterns y’all have shown. I think I have a couple I’ll post when I get home.

Thats good news for me, owning most of the rarer and expensive models already, not so good for those still looking.Dan In MI wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 3:53 pmMost likely it'll be the thumbs-down, especially if they're auctions that have seen bids. Vintage SAKs can bring insane money.SwedgeHead wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:28 pm Gonna keep an eye on those to see if there is any exciting action.![]()

I think these two are probably priced more than double going rates. But you never can tell...

You are extremely fortunate in that regard. The oldest SAK I own might be late 1970s.

Victorinox offered the SwissChamp paired with a survival kit (or, as I consider it, a starting point for a comprehensive kit) some time ago. There might be a few variations in kits. The SwissChamp was introduced in 1986 (if memory serves me correctly). In about 1991, the multipurpose hook was added (underneath the scissors). The screw in the scissors pivot was replaced with a rivet around that time. You have a nice example of an early SwissChamp and survival kit!

Yep, Dan nailed it (in fine detail I might add) . You can google Swiss Champ SOS kit (survival kit) for the pieces that should be included, there are early and late variations, and an extended kit that has the double pouch. Looks like you might have all or most of the original goodies for the single pouch there, thats cool !Dan In MI wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:02 pm Victorinox offered the SwissChamp paired with a survival kit (or, as I consider it, a starting point for a comprehensive kit) some time ago. Not quite! I got the year of introduction wrong. 1985 is the correct year. Based the tang stamp with a small V in Victorinox, it's a very early SwissChamp. I also found a link to a list of the kit's contents:

Good luck with the sale!

This post has been a long time in the making: my "family portrait" of the "other" Swiss Army knives, the Wengers.
We see, clockwise from top left: a Picnic, a Backpacker II, a Watch Case Opener (AKA Watchmaker 85), and a Patriot.
Master blades open...
Thanks for having a look!

Here are a few photos of my newly acquired Old Cross Victorinox Electrician. I believe this one was made between 1976 and 1986, but I might be a little off. Hopefully I'll be able to narrow the range down some.

My dad brought this back from Germany in 1945, borrowed from a prisoner. Never used it after he gave it to me.
