Keen kutter info
So far I have this as a keen Kutter made by EC Simmons company, St. Louis Missouri between 1870 and 1904. I think the handle material is cut stag. It looks like the number on the tang is 0316 8 1/4. I found a picture in google images, which is the exact knife that I have. If anyone has any more information on this knife, I would appreciate the help. Thank you very much.

Without seeing the tang stamp and a picture with the blades open I can offer no other information.

Probably made by Walden Knife Co., unless it was made by Winchester in 1923-29, according to Alvin Sellens, Keen Kutter Pocket Knives 2004.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Keen kutter info
Winchester moved all the Walden equipment to Connecticut in 1923 so it would have been made in Walden from 1913 to 1923 (at 3 5/8"), and then at Winchester from 1924 to 1929 (at 3 1/2"). If the OP measures the knife he'll be able to tell during which of those periods the knife was made.1967redrider wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 1:13 am Probably made by Walden Knife Co., unless it was made by Winchester in 1922-23, according to Alvin Sellens, Keen Kutter Pocket Knives 2004.
