I found this one in a junk store for $5.00. (right in my range) and just could not refuse it. I am not a collector, so used and abused knives still appeal to me.
The scales are transparent over a yellow background and must have been quit attractive until the fungi moved in to stain them. This knife was sharpened with the same technique that a lot of the older men used back in the days when I was an apprentice. After a couple of years their blades, while they would shave, had lost half of their material. At 4 1/8" closed and 85 grams, this one was a pocket full. The size does allow one to get a strong grip on the old blade. While it will not win any beauty contests, it is still a functional blade that will last a few more lifetimes if kept away from the coarse stone and aggressive fist.

Good looking trapper. Blades still have a lot of life.
