Thank you Marco for the welcome! Towards the topic, here is an image of a knife I recently picked up. It is an 11" horn with black on the front and white on the back, built somewhere in the 70s time frame. I really enjoy it.

Oh come on, QGL, you've teased us by telling us the knife is 2 different colors, you gotta at least post another picture showing the difference!
That's a nice BLACK 70's stiletto you have there, BTW, I wonder if the back cover is WHITE? lol! I'm really liking the swedge blade as well!

LOL Marco! You make a good point. I shot the picture indoors with my phone but it struggles with the light level. Here are some better ones that I shot outside with some good sunlight.

Your Frank Bs are nice! Same goes for your RPKs and so many that you have posted in this enjoyable thread. My phone struggles indoors, probably due to insufficient light. Maybe the same thing is afflicting yours. One of these days, I am going to play around with indoor lighting sources. In the meantime, here is a vintage tourist knife I bought in Tijuana and smuggled back in my boot during the early 90s. It was built with enough peek to be Mr Everest. But all else is surprisingly good for what it is. It kicks hard too! I shot this image outside. Let there be light!

A big part of the reason my pictures are so poor is the fact I don't have a mobile phone, only the camera built into my laptop and that requires me to hold the knife in 1 hand and click the button with the other, whereas if I had a mobile I could transfer the pictures to the laptop and post them from there, but other than that I have absolutely no need for a cell phone and just taking pictures is not enough reason to get one. For whatever reason, some days the pictures are much better than other days, go figure.
That's a really cool little knife you showed us, and bright too! Judging by the oversize dual-headed pin directly below the safety, the nail-nick, as well as the Milano stamp, I'd venture it is one of the "kit" knives from the 1980's that were shipped to restricted countries, and came with the spring uninstalled so it was manual, and the customer would simply slip the spring into the blade channel and insert the large pin pushing it all the way through to hold the spring in place and capping it on the back side. Since you got it in Mexico where EVERYTHING is legal they didn't need to worry about doing this. Blade-peek or not, it's a cool little knife! I did a similar smuggle to yours from Mexico way back when, but I brought back a 9" stiletto much like yours and 2 of the cheapest clunkiest OTF's you can imagine. The 9"er lasted a long time and provided me with much "click-therapy" satisfaction until the spring finally broke. That knife wasn't like yours otherwise I'd have made and installed a new spring, which you could do should your spring break, but everything on my knife was fixed. The OTF's got really boring after a short period of time, and I traded them in the Bar one night for some recreational goodies.
The knife in the pictures is also a Milano I was able to acquire with the help of another member, Jamie, and for the $45./delivered or so I paid it's a teriffic snappy little knife, and it's all-chrome ta boot! When I was installing the spring I did remove the goofy little safety!
I love me some automatic knives!

Tks Marco! Even though my Tijuana is an asian kit knife, I enjoy it. You are right on the money. The vendor in Mexico installed the spring and had it ready to go. Great customer service. That is a cool chrome knife you have there! It looks like a good deal on it too. Just don't trade it for recreational goodies They're legal now anyway.

I've got a digital camera that I don't use anymore. I know its in a box someplace in my garage. If I can locate it, I'd be happy to send it to you.

In the meantime, here is a knife that I greatly enjoy. Its an AKC Speed Hunter in stag. With its blade length at 3", I can carry it without fear of being charged.

Please don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less where a knife comes from, how it was made, country of origin, etc., if I like it and it provides me with some fun and click-therapy I buy it. I have 2 "kit" knives in my accumulation, one where the springs needs to be installed and the large pin inserted, and one with a screw pivot for removing the blade, and as inexpensive as they are they'll remain with me until I depart planet psycho, if for no other reason than their sentimental value since they were among the first autos I was able to get my hands on here in Communist Canada.
The all-chrome knife was a model I spotted years ago and just loved the look, so when I got into a position to successfully buy one I pounced. Of the $45. I paid a big part was the shipping, so it's a very inexpensive knife, but it's well made and under normal use will last forever, and should the spring break I know how to replace it, but it's the "shiny" that really holds my attention, I'm a sucker for shiny! If you know recreational goodies are now legal, does that mean you're in Canada, or just one of the states that repealed the laws? Wait, I just read in your reply that a 3" blade is O.K. for you, so you must be in a state with repealed weed laws.
As much as I appreciate your offer to send me that camera I'm gonna wait a bit until I break out my new laptop and see how those pictures come out. If they're much improved I'll likely just use that, mostly because I wouldn't even know how to transfer the pictures from the camera to my laptop, I'm that PC illiterate. If the new pictures aren't much better, I'll gladly PayPal you the shipping charges and take you up on your most generous offer, and while I'm waiting for it to arrive I can figure out how to transfer the pics. Also, I have a Samsung mobile that my brother left me that's about 5 years old, but I don't want to pay for a plan just to take pictures, unless a plan isn't necessary? If not, I'd only need to figure out how to do the transfer. I'll have to Google for some answers!
Back to 3" blades, I LOVE those Speed Hunters! Ever since the first time I saw them online, I was convinced they'd be solid well made little pocket knives, and would own one by now but for my restricted shipping problems. Only certain autos can be manipulated for shipping to me, and unfortunately those aren't one of them. I very much like the stag, but I'm a black micarta kindda guy in the end!

Been awhile since I've posted in this thread, but with this new knife I can change that right now!
It's my most recent RPK/Russian Prison Knife bringing the total number of models I have to 7, and is 9" oal with a SS dagger blade, all SS body, BO/BC action, and quite heavy due to it's all-metal body.
I'd guesstimate the weight at about 8 oz.'s, and of course it arrived with a completely dull blade.
When you shift the button the blade walks open with authority straight into the securely locked position, whereas when closing the resistance is comfortably less.
These RPK's are built to appear rustic, and this one carries that tradition proudly.
I saw my knife on ebay and liked it enough to take the chance of Customs seizure, and I got lucky when it passed right through uninspected, which really has me scratching my head, I wish I'd bought a lottery ticket!

Marco, certainly let me know if you decide you would like the camera. It is a Nikon D50 and comes with an 18-55mm lens. No doubt more recent models and items such as the IPhone 14 can do all sorts of amazing things. However, with a traditional SLR, you can create some amazing art. There is something about making your own decisions that AI and algorithms cannot replace (the craft of photography). Maybe with it, you will find your inner Ansel Adams.

With your Samsung phone, you do not need to buy a plan and activate it in order to use its camera capabilities. All that you need is the right USB cable to hook it up to your laptop. Assuming windows operating system, you access the images on the camera just like you would any file on your computer's hard drive. Copy the images to a folder and do anything you wish, such as uploading them here. If you can post the phone model, I can find the USB cable you need. They are roughly $10 on Amazon, etc.

True that about the Speed Hunter. It is a single piece spring design. Excellent little knives! I like black micarta too. When it comes to knives, there isn't much that I do not enjoy. Boker did make some scales that looked like pink speckled donut frosting. That was silly.

That's valuable information about the Samsung phone, I was almost positive it would need a paid plan to produce what I'm looking for, so thanks for that too. I'm not much into photography so I'm trying to make things as easy as possible since the only use would be for posting pictures here.

I hope the right cable is in there. It is a USB cable that does the trick. Your custom made auto sounds cool! Would enjoy seeing photos. Some of those Bokers are cool! I bought a Black Widow mini last year.

Here are pics if a Bullfighter knife I have. I got fancy with the pictures. I did shoot these indoors but instead of my phone, I shot these with a Nikon and a lighting kit.

As inexpensive as they are, and as much of a novelty item they are, I've always admired those Bullfighter autos like yours. They strike me as being fairly good knives, but I've never been able to acquire one due to my import problems. I really like the color scheme on yours. Your photos are great too.

It's an 11" oal Sons of Italy Omerta humpback auto handmade by Reuben "Chad" Blades when he was with Roadsideimports, and it has a SS 5mm modified bayonet blade, solid brass squared bolsters liners pins and button, 5mm back-spring, and jet-black ABS covers.
The knife has so much solid brass on it that it weighs nearly 12 oz.'s and fires like a cannon.
Of my current 55 autos this one remains my favorite!

Marco, that is an awesome knife!! It looks like an extremely solid and well crafted knife that you could use to fight armies of zombies! That is what a knife should aspire to and I can certainly see why it is your favorite. I bet it's sound is excellent.

The knife I posted as my favorite is everything you think it is and more! As for the sound, it's exactly how you'd think a quality auto would sound, a loud "Crack" accompanied by wrist-twisting action! Everybody should fire such a knife at least once in their lifetime!

This little auto arrived recently after wasting nearly 3 weeks sitting at Customs, and after all that they didn't even inspect it! I had actually written it off already. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not complaining, I only wish the $300. models would get through and these less than $100. models got inspected and seized, they've got it back-asswards!
This is a cool knife!
It's 7 1/2" oal and features a SS dagger blade that's etched "AKC/Italy" and has 2 identical holes drilled through the tang their purpose being a mystery to me, NS hardware, brass pins one of which is headless on one end to accommodate easy removal/replacement of a broken spring, similar to the Edgeco "Kit" knives from the 1980's, LO/LC action, and black ebony covers with designed holes in them.
It weighs a comfortable 4 oz.'s or so and only the bottom cutting edge came sharp.
Walks and talks easily via the LO/LC action.
It arrived with a near perfect factory fit and finish.
To the best of my knowledge AKC doesn't produce such a model so I assume it's a counterfeit, unless I'm totally wrong and it's a new version of an AGA Campolin "Mini Dominus" that AKC is producing.
To my eyes it looks like a cross between an inexpensive Microtech leverlock and a mid priced Leverletto leverlock!
I think this particular knife would make an excellent EDC with it's fast hard opening and smooth easy closing, and of course light weight!

Those are some nice puppies Kim! They all look quite awesome. Is the Campolin a Catalana or a Diana? Love the style.
