Yeah, good analogy, pretty accurate.1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 2:44 pmIvoryman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 7:10 am1967redrider wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 3:41 pm
I agree!![]()
You napped flint knife guys ever try cutting something with one? Just wondering how well they would work?![]()
Definitely will cut. Worked for the Native Americans for thousands of years. Bit more jagged than steel and brittle so they break easier, but functional if used right and taken care of.
Thanks, Ivory. Sounds similar to a serrated blade.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Just walk in the door from my local antique store, nab this little piece, has a lot minor scratching on the blade , I think I can get most out. Schrade-Walden H-15. 10 bucks not a bad price

I hope you ran before they called the cops, because you practically stole that one, Theo!
I am just teasing of course, I am not casting aspersions upon your character, but you did get a great deal on it. Congratulations!

That is a very nice trifecta you acquired Peter. And with good sheaths. Please help out my eyes; who is the manufacturer?

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I got this back in the "olden times" when I was a kid. I think these were made in Japan if I am not mistaken ...
It was "too cool for school" back then... but you could have taken to school if you wanted to....

I suppose it was manufactured to capitalize on the popularity of the movie. The scabbard appears to be of good quality.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Q.S. I bought it about 1984-85 and it has a heavy quality sturdy feel to it. If you held it next to a the average cheapo Chinse dagger you could feel the difference. The sheath is very strong and well made.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 11:51 am I suppose it was manufactured to capitalize on the popularity of the movie. Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I LOVE horn handles on knives... as long as I DON'T OWN THEM THAT IS...
You see, as I get older I feel as if I am fighting the fact that everything seems to be continually deteriorating... especially ME
as of late
Besides my mind and body...
My Car, my house, and worse of all... MY KNIFE COLLECTION!!!
Take a look at the photo of the fixed blade that I have attached. That was a perfectly fine horn handle... key word "was"
...
Then the bugs came....
They can find there way into so many places, I don't want to risk damaging any more handles.
I love horn, but I have shifted to Wood, Bone and Stag because this type of bug damage has happened too many times...

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
When I first saw your "Jaws", Dog, I thought it was a Kershaw "Trooper" right up until I saw the stamp. I really like it!
That's quite the gang of Becker's, Garry, a knife for every purpose! Very nice, indeed!
I'm a sucker for knives like your T/S, Pete, clean, straight lines, simple, and in the case of your knife, beautiful covers! Superb!
A shame you're having bug problems, Dog, but it sounds like you've got the solution!
Very cool entries, one and all!
