When I checked my mail on the way to town last evening, I found a package from Mr. Mark Hale. Now I've done a little knife business with Mark, so the name was quite familiar. I was immediately bumfuzzled because I had no recollection of recently purchasing anything from him. Had I completely forgotten something as important as ordering a new knife? When I opened the box my confusion was soon abated. Inside was a little note from Mark explaining that he had shipped the knife inside at the request of Quick Steel, aka Garry. I had not forgotten; I had been bombed! (and I never saw it coming)
Tucked securely inside was this beautiful little jigged bone Hen & Rooster congress knife. It's one of the older ones made in Solingen, Germany. The bone is a rich mahogany color with strawberry shaded highlights along the top and bottom edges. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. It made my day!
Garry, thank you once again for this kind, thoughtful, and generous gift. It's headed for church come Sunday.
