Case Brothers never made the 80 pattern whittler. Some doubt it was ever made earlier than the XX era (post-WWII). No stag version was ever made until after 1980 when a SFO version was made. At no time did Case Brothers ever use a shield that said ‘Case”. The knife appears to have Sambar stag which wasn’t used until the latter 1960’s at earliest.

The seller admits it is not authentic, but that’s not stopping him describing it as such in the listing header. “Case XX 6380 5380 Tested Case Bros. Little Valley NY bomb shield”.

Looks like the counterfeiters are getting tired of making the XX and Tested knives and are now making the looks new knives with 100 year old stamps. Pitiful looking knife Ken.

The sellers description falls a bit short of calling it what it actually is, a counterfeit.
