First-Gen Buck 422 Bucklite Ranger from the late '80s. I've tried virtually all of Buck's various generations of slimmed-down, weight-reduced 110 and 112s, and so far, nothing has come close to the first-gen. The current ones just plain feel cheap, and the standard LT handle texture is too aggressive. The micarta-like texturing on the 422 is perfect, and the finger grooves produce an even better grip. Plus, I also have the superior 425M steel on this model.

Today, it was on the hip while running errands, and in the pocket the rest of the day. Went in for one thing at Walmart that I forgot in a Sam's pickup order, and ended up going overboard on diecast again.

You are very welcome! Credit is also due for Jerry (who wrote the post I linked to) and Mumbleypeg (who mentioned Haversian canals in another post, which helped me find Jerry's post).

A Shur-Snap with bad tail end shrinkage, but it still works perfectly to start the workweek.

Bulldog Whitler

Whittler's don't get much more refined than this one. I am of course somewhat biased.

Snap-On Chubby by Kershaw.

Kershaw made this in a ton of different handle colors for Snap-On, as well as a Craftsman variant called the "Work Knife". I bought this beat-up, dog-chewed example because it was cheap, and I wouldn't be afraid to carry it. Set in a box for ages, as the excessively thin "professionally sharpened" edge the seller claimed it had didn't hold up at all. Kershaw fixed it for me last year, and it's been regularly carried since.

It fits my smallish hand great. The only complaint I will make is that the lock release is almost flush with the scale.

My favorite part about this knife is its unique pocket clip, which is designed to look like a wrench turning a bolt (which in this case, is the pivot).
