Wenger Trout Knife
Bought this Wenger yesterday at my local Antique mart for 10 bucks. Used to carry a Wenger back in the early 80"s and used it daily for about 10 years. I believe it's a trout knife. If I'm reading right it was in the Wenger catalog in 1991 and 2002 and 2003. If anyone has a better date range on it, I would appreciate it. Glad to have another Wenger to tote around! Reminds me of the old days!!

Re: Wenger Trout Knife
Good looking Wenger. When I first saw the title to this thread though I was expecting to see a "bird & trout" knife, which are smaller hunting style fixed blades. I really like the trout etching on this though.

Re: Wenger Trout Knife
Thanks RevolverGuy!! I've got a couple bird and trout knives too. A Queen and a Case fixed blade Bird & Trout. I like them as well. Appreciate your comments. They make a Bass and a Trout Wenger. The Bass has a locking blade and of course a picture of a Bass. The Trout Wenger has a non locking blade with a picture of a Trout. I just learned all this. Research is a part of the fun of our little hobby. When I get a new knife, my wife says "I research it to death!".RevolverGuy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 2:02 pm Good looking Wenger. I don't remember seeing one of those before. Cool!
I have referred to this online list before. It doesn't list every Wenger, but is still a pretty good reference.

Thank you for the link Reverand!! Appreciate your comments as well. I think its listed as "uncommon" as far as collectability! Not rare or nothing. Just uncommon. I hadn't seen one either, but there are so many different Wengers and Vic"s it's hard to keep up with them all. But I like the Swiss Army Knives. I checked your link Reverand and it looks like the Trout is listed as "common". The.Bass is considered "uncommon". That's a neat list of Wenger knives!! Appreciate ya!!
