Can someone tell me about this CaseXX knife
This knife belonged to my Dad. I know it’s a Case XX cheetah knife. The handle has no shield but cursive writing. Any help would be helpful.I have attached pictures. Thank you

Welcome to AAPK. Case called that the “Silver Script” shield. First appeared some time in early 2000s, after Case acquired lasers enabling them to cut inlets into bone covers with the necessary precision to match the metal of the script. It has been used on numerous different patterns off and on since then. Since the guard obscures part of the tang it is often difficult to determine the exact year on a Cheetah or other swing guard knife.
In case you haven’t found it yet there is a very good reference for Case and other brands here, which can be accessed by clicking on “Research” in the header at the top of this page https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... t/research. You can find date code information there among other things.

I'm guessing the bone color is either Bermuda Green or Kentucky Bluegrass. (Looks closer to KY Bluegrass on my screen, but photos and screen resolutions can vary.)
Nice knife and gift from your father.

Thanks Q! IIRC they also had “Emerald Green”. I don’t pretend to even try to keep up with all the colors, so unless you have the box label I wouldn’t know.

Thank you.
Saw ur Reagan quote, I believe this is his as well,,,,
Dread 9 words, " I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
My dad was a Reagan man thru and thru, still has his picture in a old cabinet. As I've grown older, I understand his draw to him, what I wouldn't give for a Reagan in office now.
