One correction and one addendum. It has 5 dots, therefore 1995. After searching through AAPK I found that the rounded S in the USA under the CASE on the tang stamp indicates the steel is CV.

Hope it wasn't taken the wrong way because nothing takes away from the knife. Case seems to be held to a standard that other makers aren't. And, it seems the comments go something like "Case made great knives back in the day, but now you have to be careful. "
As far as research goes, just do a search on AAPK and you'll find your answer. Thanks again.

Received this today that I won. A 6 dot large Case Texas Jack 6292. Even got the box. Never used, carried or sharpened. A superb example of the cutler’s art. I’ll put it up against any production knife from then or now. Thank you Scott (bloodhound). It’s been a while since I’ve owned anything this fine. Thanks again to Scott, Tom (bestgear), and all the fellow knife knuts here on AAPK. Just a quick pic as I’m losing the light.
