Remington DuPont Cutlery display case.

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington DuPont Cutlery display case.

Post by knife7knut »

Posted this in the (general discussion) but got no reaction so decided to re-post here. Stating upfront I have no financial interest in this; just want to see it go to a good home. If I could afford it(and had a place to put it), it wouuld be sitting in my house yesterday.
Located at a nearby amtique shop, it is in excellent condition. If interested, message me and I will supply the contact info. It is big(nearly 6 ft. wide.

I'm making an educated guess that the display was made in 1934- 1936 time frame. I like it. ::tu::

I have a Remington knife show case full of Cattaraugus knives. Some body worked hard cleaning it up but you can still see some green and parts of Remington. Still has the hinged door on the back. All of the button stamped from 1.50 to 3.50.
