Recent adoption: EIG Italy 14 cm picklock

Post by millern »

I recently purchased this EIG (Saul Eig import) 14 cm black horn picklock. The blade had been sharpened to be a user and, at some point, the kick spring had snapped. The rest of the little knife had additional “bumps and bruises”, but was complete enough for me to take chance on repairing it.
Since the knife was well-put-together, it was a bit stubborn to disassemble. After two attempts I fashioned a suitable spring that I slipped in from the side of the backspring, like the original. The repair turned out well, especially considering the “as found” condition “! The blade seats with no peeking and springs open and locks properly. I think the little knife looks good with my other EIG picklock!
(In the meantime, I’ll keep my eyes open for a better blade for my 14 cm knife!)
