Case show in Bradford 7/15

Post by Gunsil »

Just a reminder that the Case knife swap/show will be Saturday July 15 at the Zippo factory grounds. Show will be in a big tent and admission is free. The Case shows used to be some of the best in the country and although last year's attempt was pitiful they seem to be having a better show this year. I'll have a table of mostly Case hunting knives and military fixed blades. I hope to see some of you there, stop by and say hello. Besides the Case event it is a short drive to Little Valley and the American Cutlery Museum in Cattaraugus for you knife history nuts. Case Collectors Club members are invited for a dinner and auction on Friday evening.

There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm on the Case Collector’s Club Forum about this year’s event. I hope it goes well. I think last year was their first show since COVID which probably had an affect on participation.

I was just looking at an email about this. Wish it was closer and I actually had the time to attend. ::mdm::

C'mon John, get Herb to fire up that helicopter and come on up!

Ken, I am glad to hear that! They will only have one tent for knives and Zippos, when the shows were big and well attended there were two tents of knives for sale. Part of the problem with last year wasn't covid, they had nobody left at Case or Zippo who had been involved with the old shows and had no idea of how to run a successful show. They listened to suggestions to some extent although it is only one day as opposed to the old shows which were two days. Hopefully they get back to one of the best shows in the country.

It’s a two day event, but the first day (Friday) is CCC members only. As of a couple weeks ago they already had almost double the number of registrants as last year. For Friday (CCC members only) there is a full day of activities planned including factory tours (must be a CCC member and pre-register for a reservation), dinner, a “Collector’s auction”, live music, etc. Forum members have organized a gathering for Thursday evening - some Case employees have said they will be there too.

Saturday is open to the public. Schedule for Saturday activities, in addition to the sales/swap tent, is below.

Yeah two days whole event, the good shows were three day events with dinner and auction Thursday and two days of knife swap/show. I'm a CCC member but have no interest in bubble gum mini trappers so will not attend auction or dinner, Some nice restaurants in Bradford and Olean, I'd rather eat there. Hopefully some of the better dealers who used to do the show will be there, I have usually bought more than I have sold there. They did offer me a second table two weeks ago so maybe they didn't fill the dealer tables. Supposed to be Case products only and I don't have enough to cover two tables.

I hear ya. I’m no fan myself of mini-this or tiny-that. Somebody must be though or they wouldn’t be making them. I’ve seen some talk of “after show lobby sales/swaps” for non-Case stuff, so you might want to bring some along.

Looks like a little over 300 miles from northern VA john, it's about 300 for me, just about like going to Shenandoah for me.
