Hibbard Spencer & Bartlet

Post by CarMan »

I have read the threads on here about dating & figuring out who made specific HSB knives. I was hoping someone could help me with getting closer than 1855-1960 & figuring out who may have made this knife. Also was Camillus, Shrade & Ulster the only ones that made knives for HSB? Thank you for any help.
Keep looking up.

Your best bet is to luck up on an old ad that has your knife with the number listed. Old knife ads can be found on EBay quite often. HSB is a tough one to pin down a date on a knife, but some of the more knowledgeable folks on here may be able to make a good guess as to who made it for HSB. Here’s a link to a HSB history - interesting, but, unfortunately, it’s not gonna help with dating a knife. http://www.thckk.org/history/hsb.pdfI ujust

Yes, that master grind says Utica to me.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
