Is that an 07 on the bottom? They are strong and structurally sound I have found them to be reasonably priced on the used market.

Yes it is, if memory serves they was both real reasonable.

1976 Case 6265 Folding Hunter. It was my great-uncle's favorite deer hunting knife before I inherited it after his passing.

I still use this one, albeit sparingly. It's not officially retired as new 65s are almost $100 with tax now. Been planning on buying a beater 25OT as my work knife for ages now.

SUPER strong snap, and carbon steel blades (seems that's not on many 65 variants these days. Plus, the lanyard hole was still standard on this model, which makes it harder to lose.

The four dots are really faint. For years, I had it in my records as a '65-69.

The current square sheath with a portrait of Job Case on it is terrible. It is bulky, and a 65 rattles around in it lot. I wanted a correct sheath and finally located one paired with a rather interesting Kabar sheath for about $20. This one is period correct to a '65-69, but not sure about a '76. However, the knife is secure, and does not rattle.

Sweet! I am a big fan of the 65, It is nice to have one passed from a relative that made good use of it in the "old days"

Hunters are good solid knives, and I really like the size. A good, heavy blade on those suckers. That’s a beauty and a very special one, too, Cody!
