Not so recently, I received these two pocket knives. They are both YORK CUTLERY, three blades, swelled centers, two tang stamps, 3 5/8" closed, "whittler" pocket knives. Each main blade front tang stamp says "YORK (over) CUTLERY" Each main blade back tang stamp says "SOLINGEN (over) GERMANY" They came with the box. I took some pictures and here they are.

I sold that lot - I remember specifically the black mark on the box. York was an importer/distributor located in York, PA. They had most of their knives made in Germany, some in Japan.
