What year was this Craftsman made?

Post by rea1eye »

I just bought my 9th Craftsman knife. I think it was
made by Camillus. The handle is wood. I have seen
it's box posted showing the blades are stainless steel.
What year was it made?

Thanks,

Bob

Don’t know what year, but it looks like the blades are still pretty full. Nice specimen.

It look even better now that I gave it another polishing, sharpening,
and oil.

Some sources say it was made in the early 80's and one said
it was made just before the Camillus plant closed ( 2007?).
I think it was the former.

With 5 numbers in the pattern it is a later knife. I think 90's.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Does the 85-86 Catalog specifically mention the 95234 Craftsman?
The knife pictured as # 13 is a pen knife??
