Bone Schrades made for Parker-Frost or special runs. Let’s see ‘em.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Bone Schrades made for Parker-Frost or special runs. Let’s see ‘em.

Recently added this red bone by Schrade. These were nicely done and having the box with it called my name all the louder.

Here they are; "MinK' trapper, "L'il Bandit", "Johnny Muskrat" All 1978's. I think they are some of Schrade's best later work. JMHO.

Never understood why Schrade didn’t make bones after 1978 as standards in their regular lineup. Obviously they knew how to make eye catching bone and jigging. Here is a brown version purchased from the AAPK store.

I've had all three of the bone stockmen, red, brown and green bone, plus one in black sawcut Delrin. I agree, the bone is some of the best both for color and jigging.

I agree on the bone. Very nice; I had a Bison for awhile. I have a wall display set of Tradesmen with great etches, Farmer, Rancher, Miner, Fisherman, etc. and they all have very similar great bone.
Speaking of which, I am ready to sell a great many of my Schrades. I hurt my leg and am rather stove up for awhile, but keep that comment in mind if you are looking for something. Right now it would be hard for me to process any requests to speak of until I get some better mobility back.

Nice examples R and BM. Schrade’s bone color choices, hafting and jigging are mighty nice. The blade etches compliment this line of well built knives as well. As usual all walk & talk and have good snap.

I do not have any of the Parker knives: they really do have some fine bone and jigging. Thanks for showing them off, fellows!

::tu:: Thanks for posting T. Was hoping the run of Tradesmen would be mentioned (in addition to Schrade’s Parker-Frosts’) which were beauties.

::tu:: Dinadan, yep USA eye candy. Really cool running buffalo etch on the stockman. Like the coon and mink too.
