Here's a new one I picked up on ebay, the Gerber Freeman Guide.

Nice to see you post Squach. Good looking Gerber, I'm wondering what they call that lanyard "slit"? Not really a tube or hole. What would you call it? Almost reminds me of a belt loop. Good looker though. Great light box shot with the weathered wood. A+.

Thanks Iman. I've always liked the lines and size of this knife when I saw in catalogs and such but never had one in my hand before. Got this one for a song on fleabay. I guess I'd call that a lanyard slot for lack of a better term.

Thanks Doglegg. I've always thought it would make a good bushcraft type knife. The scales are detachable, or at least it looks as though they are, so I'm thinking of making a set out of micarta, G-10, or maybe wood. The sheath leaves a lot to be desired too, I'll probably replace it with something more to my liking.

Bingo, thanks for the compliment. Vastly underrated knife IMHO, these single wharns were $74 or $76 or something, just under $80 when I saw them at the dealers. Have kicked myself ever since for not getting several when they were available. I would love two or three of these bare head, single blades different covers too. I love the spear they made too but I just saw one go for 3 or 4 hun or something like that, way out of my range. So I pounced when I saw this. Thanks for the compliment, I love this little knife. The Benchmade has really won me over too, never had a Benchmade before and this surprised me, better than I thought it would be so that's saying something.

I-Man, I am a sucker for that Blue camel bone!!! Great photos ... but ... be careful with those hi-carbon knives, so close to the ocean look at what happened to the R.R. spikes out in the salt air...

Thanks but I doubt it was the salt air, not that it won't ruin your metal. But part of the beach here used to be a garbage dump and then they put a rail road though there and I'm pretty sure the spikes and metal were on the beach, in the water half the time when the tide was out, and wet and sandy the other half. They look like they've been soaking for at least a decade or two, maybe many more, but I'll watch it. Thanks.
