Hi.
Does anyone have any info on this knife? I have had it for about 40 years. Never been used. Just been hauling it around where ever I go. It is a 3 inch blade. The papers in the box are dated 1981. So early 80's it was purchased by my parents and given to me as they thought I could use it on my fishing/camping trips. More sentimental than anything. I've tried to look and see what it would be worth nowadays and all I could find was used ones any where from $25 - $85.00. Made in Portland, OR, postal code, GERBER. No other markings as for a model etc. Will just put it back in my sentimental box.
Thanks!

Re: Vintage Gerber knife
It just so happens I've been watching and searching for your exact knife for my collection, and from what I'm seeing and reading online yours is a Gerber Lockback II. The info I've read has the prices slightly higher at about US$100.-$150. I'd wait to hear more opinions before I did anything though, I was wrong on one other occasion back in 1977! lol!

Your knife is an FSII drop point. The knives were made in three sizes with the FSI as the smallest, the FSII, and the larger FSIII. The FSII was made with two blade shape variations, yours is the scarcer of the two.
As to price, they vary wildly.

Re: Vintage Gerber knife
It appears in your photos that the wood handle insert is broken and quite a large piece is missing. If so, the value of the knife would be greatly reduced.
