(Aside) MB: I've posted this little (2-3/4") tool before and someone said it was a typesetter's tool. It looks a little like one of the blades on you knife above. I'm not arguing with anybody but this seems like a very cheaply made, Colonial-type design that was a company favor, with a key-chain ring. It has no maker's mark, only a number stamp and it's gold-embossed, "USE VICTOR'S". ??????.

Back to the topic:
My cousin gave me the brown, Delrin "bone" KUTMASTER ,"Gub'ment" issue stockman recently. I already had the older, black, peach seed composite one. The black one is just minutely different in size and shape, the brass center scale being slightly thicker, and the overall height of the scales slightly taller. Also, the nail nick on the brown ,(newer) one is slightly shorter. Maybe these variations are just normal operational differences. Both knives, though age stained a bit, are really unused, with factory edges. Anyway, it's nice to have a matched pair.

That first one is unusual for sure. The two Kutmaster go very well together.

I have a couple of these. They are marked on the handles the same way "USE VICTOR'S".

Definitely not a typesetting tool or a hoof pick as some have suggested.

The only idea I have about it is there is a company that sells oil seals, Victor, and this little tool looks like it would be real handy in pulling out rubber oil rings, instead of a sharp screwdriver that could cut the O-ring. Just making an educated guess, no concrete evidence of that. It is cheaply made and something that could have been given out at an automotive store back in the day.

Thank you a bunch ! That solves a ten year mystery. Totally agree on the seal/ring remover theory. Wonder what the stamped number is? Are yours number stamped? Thanks again. J.O'.
