Found this one in my Aunt's home. My uncle was a big time fisherman, been dead since 1973.

Chickenman, your blade shape reminds me of a Finnish-made knife, but don't quote me.

Re: Scandinavian knives-big & small
It definitely qualifies as a Scandinavian knife in my view. I realize Finnland is technically distinct from Scandinavia, e.g. having a language unrelated to other Nordic countries. Yet, being Nordic I've always included it with the other Nordic countries sort of a cousin of Scandinavia. (Kindly humor an old man.)

I am voting for the bear themed puukko as my favorite!Quick Steel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 1:44 pm P1040450 (2).JPGP1040451 (2).JPGP1040530 (2).JPGP1040535 (2).JPG

Thanks for your comment T-Dog. Many years ago, a sister of mine called herself Standing Bear. I was called Scouting Owl. It would take much too long to explain the background. Suffice it to say that when I discovered the knife with a standing bear I knew it was made for her. To say she was delighted to receive it doesn't begin to capture her reaction.

I have several mora knives and Puukko Knives. I dug this one out to carry today. A sturdy lightweight EDC.

Re: Scandinavian knives-big & small
T-Dog, that is a nice looking typical Puukko. I have a huge pile of cardboard that I need slice and dice to bring it under control. Based on previous experience I will most likely use a Mora.
Re: Scandinavian knives-big & small
Q.S. you can't go wrong with the Mora for tasks like that, I have a big pile too that I want to burn in my backyard firepit. I am just waiting for a non 15-30 mph windy dayQuick Steel wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 1:07 am T-Dog, that is a nice looking typical Puukko.
