Case hunting knife

I recently bought a Case knife with only the word stamped Case on the tang..... While looking in the tang stamps charts I couldn't find the stamp
I do think the stamp is from the Tested or the Case XX time period. This knife has been used and was with the sheath..
I'm not sure if that is original.
I would like learn more about this knife and stamp

Stamps used on Case fixed blades are not the same as used on Case pocket knives prior to 1965. Any attempts to apply pre-1965 Case pocket knife stamps to fixed blades will likely be erroneous or futile. Thanks Ken..... I looked in the chart for the fixed blade knives but still didn't find that exact stamp....Some stamps were similar
but the font was different it's an uppercase bold stamp...I appreciate the information.

That is called the Case "serifs" mark. Serifs are the little feet on the letters and this mark was used around 1933-mid 1940s, No closer dating available. The beginning date is close, mark was used after Kinfolks stopped making all the case hunting knives (1932-1933 and mark was used into WW2 but exact end date not known. Most with this mark are chrome plated, your model will be found both chromed and plain steel.

Great Information.... The story that came with the knife was it was used in WW2 but truthfully I don't know if that is accurate or not.
But the knife seems to be from that time period.... the knife looks like it could have been in WW2... the sheath also shows wear and missing
part of the strap....Thanks again for the information!!

Story quite possibly true. Some of this model were included in air crew survival packages during WW2. They were not actual government issue but the companies that produced the kits could purchase and include any 5" blade hunting knife in the kits. Some had Case knives and some had Marbles. Since your knife has an aluminum pommel and nickel guard it was made before the war. Your sheath with the low mounter keeper strap looks original to the knife, Case often used a lower mounted keeper strap than most other companies.

For what it's worth, the Case published list I have associates that stamp with 1940-1965. Not 1940-1964 like pocket knives.
