U.S. Knife Sales To U.K.?

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge in this area? I'm interested in selling some knives
on the U.K. version of EBAY and I'm wondering if I'm going to run into snarls at customs or with British
laws about exporting knives to that country.

They have some funky laws relating to knives over there. I think the biggest problem would be if you sold something that didn't fit their program and the officials confiscated it. Whoever bought it would be out the $$ for the purchase and the knife would be down the toilet so to speak.

EBAY UK has pretty much quit allowing the sale of knives.

Unfortunately, Ebay UK has banned the sale of all knives except for dinner cutlery

. That is a different issue from selling and sending knives to the UK. It is legal for us to buy slip joints and fixed-blades and have them imported from abroad. The exceptions include banned items e.g., switch blades, gravity/flick knives, push daggers, balisongs, knuckle duster handles to name some. The Britishblade site has a legal forum where many of the topics and questions are addressed by people much more familar with the laws than myself. s-k

Trying to stand beside my UK fellow knife collectors (and to keep the bids rolling in), I tried a couple of times to offer my ebay items to UK/Ireland members. First Ebay ended all my auctions, second time I was suspended for one day and yet another Ebay violation accumulated for me.

Perhaps listing my knives of all kinds under 'dinnerware' would work.

It is ridiculous. I was barred from buying a corkscrew knife book a few weeks back because it was litsted under the knife collectible category rather than a book category. I questioned this with ebay and received some total nonsense in response. The category of the listing was apparently much more relevant than the actual item for sale.

I sent S-K a christmas gift. It was a Sog tool with case.

S-K never got it. I made an ERROR and did not insure it. Kiss that $60.00 pluse shipping good-by.

We both think it got lost or slipped in some ones pocket in customs.

This is stupidly ridiculous. I feel sorry for you over there.
