SAK. Usually a 4 or 5-layer one.
Edit: Sorry, forgot the 'why'...
I suppose it's because there are so many different tools with different textures, and you can have fun twiddling it all around, trying OHO and the like.

I've been having fun with this SOG KIKU XR lately. It rides on ball bearings and it can be opened three ways.
The thumb hole.
The flipper tab.
The XR lock.
It's also easy to close with one hand. The blade just falls closed when the XR lock is released. It's a solid tool but it's also fun to fidget with.

Joe, it's 4 1/4 inches closed. Blade is about 3 inches but that varies depending on how far back I measure it. SOG made 3 or 4 variations of the knife. Mine is the heavy one with the stainless steel liners.

Flippers and autos, really like some of my unassisted flippers with the bearings, so smooth and easy not so violent as some of the spring loaded ones, ole arthritic hands don't cha know.

Recently for me it's been the front flippers. Kinda like flicking a Bic.
Another knife I can't keep from playing with when I have it out is the Mark Varga VBR.

For a sub $300 knife it is super sweet full size, Reate built production knife. This one is a version 2, the version 3 has a thumb stud and flipper tab.
