Custom maker Bill Ruple to collaborate with Case
Case has announced a collaborative agreement with Bill Ruple. Not sure of the details but assume he will take on a similar role to that of the late Tony Bose as a knife design collaborator and brand ambassador. More info here:

I'm familiar with the name but not his style. What's his forté, Ken? I knew Tony stuck to traditional patterns that Case once offered but wouldn't tool up to make.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Didn't he do a few collaborations with Queen?

It’s my understanding that the annual Case/Bose collaborations were mostly, if not all, knives that Tony Bose made as his own patterns. Then he would help Case make the same pattern.1967redrider wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:26 pm I'm familiar with the name but not his style. What's his forté, Ken? Tony did base some of his patterns on knives from yesteryear but I don’t recall any of them being former Case patterns.
A couple examples are the 2015 Cattle Knife which was based off an old Empire Diamond Edge pattern and the Lanny’s Clip that Tony designed for a friend of his named Lanny.
I’ve only seen a handful of Bill Ruple knives but every one of them was a traditional style slip joint pocket knife.

All Bill Ruple knives I have seen were traditional pocket knife patterns of various patterns. Typically $1500 to $5000 for one of his custom folders.1967redrider wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:26 pm I'm familiar with the name but not his style. What's his forté, Ken? I don’t know for sure but wouldn’t be surprised to see his patterns being produced by Case as a premium line, like they did Tony Bose’s work. Ruple designed some patterns for Queen once upon a time.

Indeed he did. Here's a Queen/Ruple Saddlehorn pattern I used to own (it now lives with Randy Gone2Three)
