yeah, another one went down again today. This time it was a garage belonging to a young couple from our church. We got my roof and garage cleaned off today so I'm good for a while, hopefully for the season. We are getting another foot tonight and tomorrow.____Davetreefarmer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 1:12 pm Good Mornin', Diners.
It seems wrong to mention our weather as I'm reading about what is going on weather wise in the northern and western parts of our country where some of you fine folks reside.I was going to fuss about y'all not keeping your weather at home since we have 36 of your degrees wandering around Starvation Plantation this morning. There was probably some frost in the pockets and low lands, it wasn't too far up in Alabama that freeze warnings were posted.
Global warming is something, we used to have watermelons planted and corn in the ground by this time of year. It is what it is and a roof caving in from the weight of snow sounds pretty serious! Hang in there all you northern knifers! Tornado season is just over the horizon and hurricane season starts in less than 3 months.![]()
Enjoy hump day if you can, coffee is fine this morning!

If you haven’t seen it and you can, I highly recommend it. A sad ending (I love dogs) but it was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen !
Have a good day mate.

Good morning everyone.
35 now and 66 predicted for the high. Gotta feed my pets, give my dog her weekly allergy shot, shower and get to my cardiologist. Heart checked out fine as did kidneys. Both major causes of high blood pressure. Trying to find the cause of mine. Okay some days, other times it’s high enough to cause a heart attack or stroke . May need to change medication.
Also looking forward to the start of the third season of Ted Lasso on Apple TV.
Funniest show to come along in ages.
It’s rare today for shows to be original, good entertainment and not some “woke” BS.
Anyway, hoping y’all have a great day.

Good Morning to everyone. 36 going to 61. Mostly cloudy.
Have to get a haircut this morning. That's $15 dollars including a $2 dollar tip. The haircut itself used to be $12 but was bumped to $13.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's day. I'll have to choose which green knife to carry. Perhaps I will organize a march of one; from the front of the house to the back of the house.
Thinking about getting a new cell phone.
peace & health

Mornin' guys and gal. The temperature is currently a warm 65º and a few showers are scheduled for the day. Maybe some storms later on today.
It is taco day at the Deli which illustrates that we have little to nothing to get excited about here in P'ville.
Hope your day is a good one.

Good morning. The promised foot of snow that was supposed to start last night hasn't showed yet and they've dropped it to maybe 4 to 8 inches starting about 10AM today. I'm glad I can't be that poor at my job and still keep my job because I'd probably get as lousy at it as these people are. Duluth used to have a military weather system that also gave our local weather stations predictions, and you could pretty much count on them being dead on. When they closed down the AF base it all went away. Now they use those computer generated multilabel track predictions generated somewhere where they don't have any idea what Lake Superior will do to the high and low pressure systems as they approach our area. That's why we end up outside in the morning scraping a quarter inch of partly cloudy off our windshields and shoveling 6 inches of partly sunny off our sidewalks. My hip and leg pain tells me that the next system is still approaching. I got my shovel ready. Have a great Thureday.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
Workday is here again, never an end to needing help around the place, inside and out.
Still cold by our standards, 35 around 6am. Yesterday was clear, with light north wind, only got to 66 degrees.
Miss Joy and her sisters are planning to attend the annual Canaveral Descendants Day activities at Cape Canaveral this weekend. They tour the old cemeteries, home sites and also the lighthouse that is all off-limits to the public. Miss Joy's maternal grandparents were homesteaders on the Cape and her mother and several aunts and uncles were born there. Eminent domain proceedings in the late 1940's and early '50s transfered ownership to the USAF, now the US Space Force. They were paid $25 per acre for the properties.
Y'all have a good one!

Critters fed. My ole wild cat is limping a little bit, hope he get to feeling better a least he's able to sit up and take nourishment.
Got some much needed yard cleaning and weedwhacking done yestiddy, even mowed around in a place or two that wuz getting a little to high to suit me, way to early to start cutting grass imho.
Got a new bed coming today and I may get out in the yard and get some more work done in a bit. Always something needs doing around the ole homestead.
Yawl have a good'un and be careful out there.

Dave, I agree about weather forecasters now days. The local small market radio station had weather guy that could get it right at least 90% of the time. He retired a few years ago, the new guy does pretty good My body tells me I’ll be having crappy weather today.
Work today, I’d much prefer to go back to bed. Everything hurts.
Time to quit bitching and get on with day.

I used to work at a supplier (mostly instruments and related whatnots) that sold wire called "heat trace." I think it could be put under a driveway and, when power was applied, resistance in the wire would produce heat that melted snow. Maybe such a thing could be used with roofs as well...if it doesn't create additional problems?

Good morning to all. It's currently 42 degrees, and we might hit the mid-50s before settling into mid-40s overnight. Unfortunately, there is a likelihood of rain as evening approaches. Reorganization will continue later on. I sure am happy to see at least a small amount of clutter has been dealt with appropriately. Sooner or later I'll get to putting some burdensome possessions up for sale. Y'all have a great day!

Today was a good example of the weather liers
1st forecast was 5-7 in of snow
Then was rain & 2-4 in.
Actual: rain and a bit of sleet & snow
Only constant was the NW wind, steady at 35-40mph.
Which puts the wind chill 17-20 degrees under the actual temperature. Brrrrrr!!!!

Good Morning Diners, we are open on this fine St. Patricks day Friday. It is not celebrated here anymore, not like it once was. We had a parade through the City up until the late 1960's, now it is hardly mentioned, you might be greeted with someone of Irish heritage, otherwise nothing. Amazing how times change. Enjoy your last day of the working week and your first coffee. Tomorrow, Saturday it is supposed to reach 100 degrees here, very rare for this time of the year, but i suspect the weather forecasting guru's may get it wrong, we shall see. Have a good one.

Mornin' to all the patrons here in the FCD. It is a cool 44º here right now and scheduled to be 54º later today.
Nothin' much on today's agenda but one or two of the weather prognosticators mentioned some snow possibilities and that would be most unusual this time of year. All the trees have budded out and Spring has sprung.
Hope you all have a fine day today.

Good Morning FCD
49 degrees now with a high of 62. That’s IF the weather folks are correct. The Farmers Almanac which predicts 1 year in as advance is way more accurate. Rain today. Otherwise not much planned. Need to get up and moving. Feed critters and make me some coffee. Probably fix an omelette and perhaps watch Hondo (great movie). A pretty boring Friday which I hope kicks off an exciting weekend. Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Mornin', Folks.
Temperature is 58 degrees, the wind yesterday was out of the south, so rain is coming sometime soon and then it'll be cold again. Had a successful work day, went and bought some off-road diesel, put some corn in a deer feeder and even hooked up our old bottom plows and worked on the garden plots and was still able to eat a fine dinner of chicken wing and rice casserole, boiled cabbage, corn bread and a nice slice of cake. Miss Joy has made a bunch of Pumpkin Bread to take to her sisters this weekend.
We are almost packed and ready for a short trip down to Titusville for a couple of days. Not taking any trading material with me this time, last couple of trips I did a bit of gun trading with one of my brothers-in-law. Don't know if we'll make it Webster flea market this time?
Shouldn't be any knives left, remembering the great finds Scott has had recently.
Coffee's ready, y'all have a great day.

Good morning. 6 degrees to start the day and about 8 inches of snowy mess to deal with. The week ahead doesn't appear to be much to rejoice about and these low pressure systems are messing with my old bones so I'm a little grumpy. Tomorrow I'm planning to finish up my taxes for 2022. That likely won't cheer me up much, but at least I'll have it done. Have a great weekend and Phil, drive safe my friend.____Dave

The only thing going on in my little corner of the world is I have a knife out for delivery. Surprise, surprise. Weather prognosticators are saying mostly cloudy early, then sunshine for the afternoon. High 32F. All of our leftover snow left town yesterday.

Morning diners. Rainy morning; supposed to dry out later. In the fifties but getting colder. It will be freezing during the night.
Got a haircut this morning. Tried yesterday and sat outside the barber shop for a few minutes. Then recalled that in my town all barbers are closed on Thursday. A long time tradition.
Although I am half Irish from my father's side I identify with my mother's Viking heritage. But best wishes to any of you having some Irish blood.
