The Ostdiek Company Minneapolis Minnesota

Post by Miller Bro's »

Goins' Encyclopedia lists this information:
THE OSTDIEK COMPANY MINNAPOLIS MINN.
c.1908-1926 Founded by Herman J. Ostdiek in 1908 he was born in Iowa in 1856 moved to Chicago and opened a business.
Then he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota , and opened an importing business some of his cutlery was made by U.S. manufacturers.

Anyone else have knives with this stamp?

This one I have has sat in a cigar box it appears and unused just some age spots.
Not hard to figure out who made this one! 8)

I have the same knife plus an additional fork in case I get company. I'll have to dig it out and take some pictures when I get a chance. Somewhere I got the idea mine was made by Case.____Dave

Would love to see them Dave!

Mine was definitely made by Case ::nod::

Some of the eating sets we're also made by Cattaraugus.
