Case Question
Does anyone have any idea when Case started putting "for flesh only" on their spey blades?

Re: Case Question
Can't tell you just when they started, but I have a 6347 stockman from 1970 that has it on the spey blade.

Re: Case Question
I don't know exactly either; but is on the USA era stockman knives.

Re: Case Question
From what I have seen, it began during the CASE XX era, most likely the early 1950's.knfmn wrote:Does anyone have any idea when Case started putting "for flesh only" on their spey blades?
The only patterns of stockman that I have seen with the etching are - all '47 pattern variants, all '18 pattern variants, (of course I mean the 47 and 18 patterns that had the spey blade as one of the blades) and the 63087 Sp Pen. For some reason they never did it on the other stock patterns that had a spaey, like the 6344 HP, and the '92 and the '75 patterns. It ended by about '82-'83 though they have brought it back on some recent SFO's.
There was also the M110 which was a metal handled knife with a spey blade that had the etch.
